How it Works

The Dynamo Challenge is designed to be easy for any school to take on board, without disruption, yet with maximum impact and effectiveness. We can be engaged by a single school or a local authority bringing the Challenge to a number of schools.

If we are engaged by health promotion professionals, we are more likely to become involved in supportive planning over a longer period, working with clusters of schools, or a whole town or city, possibly on the basis of school competing against school. This will typically also involve local media work, and an associated public activity event, perhaps in a local park, for the whole family, thus engaging parents more effectively.

We take particular measures towards participation from children with disabilities. We have worked in over a hundred special needs schools, and have an adapted programme, mainly involving our fleet of adapted bikes, trikes and quadricycles. We also have a hand-cranked version of our pedal-powered Scalextric racing game.
